I've written a program in C to be able to communicate with an AX-12. The problem is that I'm unable to make the AX-12 rotate to an angle. I'm using an STK500 controller in combination with an Atmega32, Sending instructions throughout the USART at 1 MBPS (8 data bits, no parity and 1 stop bit). I've also checked if the USART is sending anything at all, by sending it to the hyper terminal, which just seems to work fine. Also according to the manual the default baudrate seems to be 1 MBPS, which shouldn't be the case either!
Is it even possible to do it without the use of a CM-5?
What exact frames do I need to send to to the AX-12 to make it rotate? At the moment i'm sending the torgue enable instructions, movement speed and goal positions (including the 0xFF flags, Broadcasting ID, Length, WRITE instruction and checksum). Am I missing something?
Also, is it nessecary to use status packets when controlling only one AX-12? Because i'm only using Instruction Packets.
any help would be highly appreciated!
