Bioloid: motor ID
2009-04-30 21:35:00
hi,
we have a problem with our bioloid kit. I had wrote following instruction:

writeWord(5,P_ID,15);

It was a mistake. I know I had to write writeByte(..).
Can you tell me, which ID our motor now has or how we can find it out?

bye blueWolf

Dear Wolf, When setting the ID using WriteWord, the ID and baud number changes. Since you wrote 15(0x000F), the ID and baud number will change respectively for 0x0F, 0x00 The baud number 0 will be 2Mbps making it impossible to communicate with the USB2dynamixel. Thus, you will unable to retrieve it unless you get it repaired. If you are using a CM-2+ or CM-5, here a possible solution : - You must connect ONLY 1 dynamixel with a problem. - Play the Manage Mode in the CM-5 or CM-2+ using the Robot Terminal. - Input “baud 0” - Input “cid 15” (This is inputting the ID) - Input “dump” (If you found it correctly, the table will output.) - Input “baud 1” - You’re done! The restoration has been complete. ROBOTIS
