I have a customer with 2 MX-106T servos and 1 has more backlash than the other. See video attached.
Is there any way to solve this via the customer? This causes quite an issue when using them together.
Due to the characteristics of the spur gear, there's a backlash and its angle can be bigger as metal gear gets worn out.
If the customer has been using the MX-106T, replacing to new gear set could reduce the backlash gap.
Thank you for your response. I will see if this is the case.
Both of these servos have never been used so this backlash is just from taking them out of the box and inspecting them.
What would be the process of getting this looked in to?
If the customer's application is very sensitive to the actuator's backlash, it is recommended to use Pro series which use cycloid gear that reduces backlash by 80% than MX series.
The backlash with spur gears is inevitable due to its mechanism, so we have a specific standard for the quality.
However, if the customer requests RMA, we'll take a look at it and see if it can be reduced.
Thanks for your response. I will pass it along.
The customer is strapped for time so they are going to try to use them as is. But he may be back if he cannot overcome the current backlash issue.
Thank you for your assistance.
If an RMA is needed I should contact John correct? Or can I attach the form here?
