I can currently read the velocity alone from the Dynamixel at 500 Hz via the U2D2 Dynamixel adapter (baud rate set at 4000000). This is because the Serial to USB FTDI chip imposes a minimum 1 ms delay on the communication from the motor. So I want to avoid the FTDI chip bottleneck
Supposing I purchase the USB2Dynamixel adapter and connect it to my PC's DB9 serial port, will I be able to get a higher read rate?
If you are using serial port, theoretically it would allow higher read rate, but we haven't tried it.
But as it does not require additional process to convert data, it is worth to try if you need higher refresh rate.
