POST No. 2407189
Issue of XM540-W150-R
2018-12-06 17:30:30 Allie

Whether the  XM540-W150-R can be twisted freely when the actuator is power on or off, and the actuator will not be damaged.  If can, how to set the specific parameters respectively?

Waiting for your reply.

Hi Allie,

When Dynamixel is Torque On status, it'll try to resist against position changes.

This will occur even if you set Goal Torque to "0", internal circuit will be shorted and act as a Dynamic Brake which will resist to rotate.

If you want to rotate the Dynamixel with less resistance, you need to turn off the Torque.

However, rotating Dynamixel too fast can cause damage on internal components.

Please Do not exceed No Load Speed.

Thank you.

I know that rotating Dynamixel too fast can cause damage on internal components.Could you see the vedio I have uploaded on 5th Dec?

In  the vedio which provied by the offical website , the Dynamixel is power on, but the  torque value is set "0", I see the  person rotate Dynamixel manually  under this mode. I want to konw if this can damage the Dynamixel? If  it can't damage the Dynamixel, what parameters have you set?

Yes, I've seen it and tested with my own Dynamixel.

I left my test setting as a reply, but in the video, Dynamixel is Torque On state because at the end of "finger tip" play, you can see it moves to the goal position.

Thank you.
