Does the DXL H54P+ rotate freely when it is not connected to power? I am assembling a robot and I would like to be sure whether I coul move it (without power) to adjust the assembly without damaging it.
Thanks in advance for your reply,
Yes, you can freely rotate the output axle(horn) of DYNAMIXEL when not powered.
However, rotating the horn with excessive speed(such as exceeding No Load Speed) could damage the internal circuit.
Also, due to the gear ratio, it could be very difficult to rotate the horn, so please be careful with that.
Thanks Willson, actually I tried to do it without power and its so hard that I didn't try further.
So can you confirm that if I push harder (with a low speed) I should not be damaged?
In order to make sure that I understood your inquiry, are you trying to rotate the horn when the power is turned off?
If the power is completely turned off, it is okay to rotate the horn slowly, but if you are only turning off the torque with power supply, it could be very hard to rotate the horn by hand.
When turning the horn by hand, do not make a jerky motion, but gently apply and increase the force to the direction you want to rotate.
Yes I confirm I wanted to rotate the horn when the power is turned off. I take into account your remarks about moving it slowly and increasing the force little by little.
