Is it okay to back-drive these servos (Specifically the MX-64 series)? Also, is it okay to back-drive the pro-series dynamixels? Are cycloid gears better or worse for the instance of being back-driven?

DYNAMIXELs are back-driveable, but it is not recommended to use it as a standard feature as well as to rotate the horn faster than the no load speed specified in the eManual.
Same rules applied for PRO/PRO+ series.
If you can provide more details about your application, it might be easier for us to determine whether it is a safe practice or not.
