Please find the attached video for your reference. The OP3 robot will be powered off while playing the ball if we chose to use USB charging. But it can work normal when we only use the battery. We checked all the cable connected, especially the power charging cable, and found there was no problem. It is so strange.Have you met this problem? Would you please advise how to do with it?
Thanks and have a nice day!
If the power supply cannot provide enough power, OP3 can be shut off during a specific motion that requires more power.
Please make sure that the power supply can provide at least 12V 5A sufficiently.
Yes,the power supply is the original one and it is exactly 12V 5A.Please find the picture for your reference.
Recently we purchase another 3 units, both of them have the same problem. Please advise how to do with them.
Thank you for the picture.
Does all 3 SMPS in each OP3 package have the same issue?
Or just one SMPS tested with 3 different OP3 have a problem?
It looks like the SMPS DC jack is not firmly contacting to the robot connector during a certain motion.
Using SMPS power only is not recommended during the motion as it can be unplugged and causing problems in mechanical and electrical components.
Please connect the battery to the robot even if the robot is connected to the SMPS power source.
While connected to the SMPS, OP3 will not consume the battery.
BTW, did you test all 4 SMPS with different OP3 or just one OP3 that collapses in the video clip?
Unfortunately, it is the issue caused by the barrel DC jack which it is intended for a stationary power supply.
Inserting battery also helps OP3 to control balance as walking parameters are optimized for the battery weight.
