For mx106-t steering gear, the protocol used is 2.0. When searching the steering gear with the software dynamixelwizard2, it cannot be found. When repairing the firmware, Dynamixelwizard2 does not respond during the repair process.
The R + Manager software can be used to search, control the LED and control the position rotation. The firmware cannot be repaired.
Then re use the Dynamixelwizard2 to search the steering gear. It can be found and controlled by the 2.0 protocol. It can't be repaired when repairing the firmware.

I got same problem. It's because of wiring.
First, I use jumper wire connect with dynamixel's connector(as in picture). Motor could drive but recovery fail in some motor (Bootloader error).
After many tried, I try serious wiring with all male-female connector and plumbing wiring. Recovery is complete.
Then, I guess that jumper wire isn't fit well for dynamixel's connector (even though it feel so fit). It's not stable connection enough to run firmware (just drive motor or connect to Wizard is not problem).
Even though, other motor is work, it might cause "Lucky" that at that time connection wasn't lost. Then, You should try serious wiring.
